      Good question! The short answer is because of gravity, if you don’t know what gravity is, I’ll explain it here:

      Gravity is a force of attraction. We’re not talking about finding someone really cute and adorable. It’s like the Earth pulling on you and keeping you on the ground. If we jumped off the side, it would pull us back sideways. If we fell off the bottom, it would pull us back up.

      This force was discovered by scientist Sir Issac Newton in the 1600s because he was hit by an apple fallen from an apple tree.
