This is a really difficult question to answer. I tend to make lots of little discoveries with each experiment. Sometimes they are tiny things that mean a lot to me because they mean an experiment will finally work (such as running an experiment at one temperature rather than another) , whereas a the fact that one of my viruses will grow in another cell type could mean a lot to people who work with those cells, so to them that is the best thing I have ever discovered.
My favourite discoveries are when influenza B virus behaves differently to influenza A virus, some people would find it boring, whereas I get really excited.
